What You Should Know Series: Family Engagement Strategies

Family engagement is critical for all programs and community partners who work with children. In this professional learning session, build knowledge about family engagement and its impacts on children and program staff. Participants will also learn strategies for engaging families during enrollment as well as throughout their time in your programs.
Becky Goetzinger is the Reading Specialist at the National Center for Families Learning (NCFL). She develops and facilitates professional development pertaining to literacy and family engagement. Prior to joining NCFL, Becky was a classroom teacher and instructional coach for 24 years and has taught at the elementary, middle, high school, and university levels. Becky holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of Kentucky, a master’s degree in Reading Education from the University of Louisville, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Education and Social Change from Bellarmine University.
